Customs Brokerage Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and optimize our customs brokerage operations. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient cargo processing, compliance with customs regulations, and excellent customer service while leading a high-performing operations team.

Job Description

Responsible for overseeing daily brokerage and logistics operations, ensuring smooth import and export processing, compliance with customs regulations, and efficient coordination with clients, shipping lines, truckers, warehouses, and government agencies such as the Bureau of Customs.

• Manage overall customs brokerage operations and shipment processing
• Ensure compliance with customs laws, tariffs, and import/export regulations
• Monitor and supervise customs declarations, permits, and clearance documentation
• Coordinate with clients, freight forwarders, shipping lines, truckers, and warehouse providers
• Lead and supervise operations staff, declarants, processors, and coordinators
• Ensure timely release and delivery of cargo
• Resolve operational issues, shipment delays, and customs concerns
• Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
• Monitor KPIs, productivity, and service performance
• Prepare operational reports and maintain accurate records
• Ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations
• Maintain strong relationships with customs officials and business partners

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Customs Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
• Licensed Customs Broker is an advantage
• At least 5 years experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or logistics operations
• Minimum 2–3 years managerial or supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of import/export procedures and customs regulations
• Experience handling air and sea freight operations
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments and deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and customs/tracking systems
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of E2M system and customs documentation
• Familiarity with tariff classification and customs valuation
