Are you an experienced tax professional with a strong background in Australian taxation? We are a Philippines-based outsourcing company providing dedicated staff to a boutique tax compliance and advisory firm in Regional Australia. We're looking for a Tax Accountant to join our team, with a flexible hybrid setup based in Makati City.
This role is ideal for someone who can work independently, has solid technical grounding in Australian tax compliance, and is looking for a stable role without the pressure of managing a team.
What You'll Do- Prepare BAS, IAS, FBT returns, TPAR and compliance reports for Australian SME clients
- Perform GL analysis, GST treatment review, and reconciliations to prepare accurate workpapers supporting year-end tax compliance
- Prepare financial statements, income tax returns, and related schedules for various entities — Companies, Trusts, Partnerships, and Individuals
- Prepare supporting year-end deliverables — including tax reconciliations, franking account computations, dividend schedules, and trust distribution minutes — to support financial statement and tax return preparation
- Identify and resolve technical client queries, assess sufficiency of client-provided information, and escalate complex issues and flag risk areas to your Manager as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy (BSA)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Australian taxation
- Hands-on experience with Xero and MYOB (non-negotiable)
- Experience with FYI Docs and/or the ATO portal is ideal
- CPA Philippines or equivalent certification is ideal but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and sound technical judgment
- Comfortable working independently across multiple client files
- Good time management skills, with the ability to accurately record time against client jobs (timesheets)
