HR Admin and Payroll Specialist

We are actively looking for an HR Admin and Payroll Specialist - this is a combined role.
Key Responsibilities.
Payroll Operations- Review timecards, timesheets, and payroll reports for accuracy and compliance.
- Run and process bi-weekly/monthly payrolls (in-house or via payroll provider).
- Ensure tax withholdings, benefit deductions, and compensation align with company policies and legal requirements.
- Handle payroll adjustments, garnishments, and off-cycle payments as needed.
- Record payroll journal entries in the General Ledger and assist with month-end close activities.
- Facilitate employee onboarding, including I-9s, new hire paperwork, system setup, and benefits enrollment.
- Manage offboarding processes, including final pay, benefits termination, and exit documentation.
- Coordinate open enrollment periods, track benefit changes, and serve as a liaison to benefits vendors.
- Maintain HRIS/payroll system data integrity and support data audits.
- Ensure employee records are complete, up-to-date, and legally compliant.
- 2+ years of experience in payroll, HR administration, or a similar accounting/HR/payroll hybrid role.
- Familiarity with payroll platforms (e.g., ADP, Gusto, Isolved, Rippling) and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage).
- Understanding of wage and hour laws, employee tax compliance, and benefits administration.
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; capable of reconciling and validating large datasets.
- High attention to detail, process discipline, and confidentiality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
