Accounting Supervisor

Sun Savings Bank Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Accounting Supervisor to join our dynamic finance team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards (e.g., PFRS), tax laws, and regulatory requirements, including BSP regulations.
• Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
• Prepare and submit timely and accurate financial reports to management and regulatory authorities.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations.
• Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a strong advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in the banking or financial services industry is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software eg. GLTnet
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
