Surveillance Service Technician

Job description

A Surveillance Systems Technician is responsible for monitoring security camera footage, ensuring the proper functioning of surveillance systems, and leveraging technology to enhance security operations. This role requires attention to detail, technical proficiency, and the ability to identify and report security incidents effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• CCTV Monitoring: Continuously review live and recorded CCTV footage to detect and report any suspicious activities, security breaches, or policy violations.
• Employee Activity Monitoring: Observe and document employee behavior to ensure adherence to workplace policies, productivity guidelines, and safety regulations.
• System Maintenance: Ensure all cameras, DVR/NVR systems, and surveillance software are fully operational. Troubleshoot minor technical issues as needed.
• Incident Reporting: Document and escalate security incidents, policy violations, suspicious activities, or system malfunctions to the appropriate authorities.
• Technology Utilization: Use advanced security software, video analytics
• Data Management: Organize and retrieve recorded footage for investigations while ensuring compliance with privacy and security policies.
• System Audits: Conduct routine system checks to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend upgrades or fixes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with security teams, HR, IT personnel, and management to enhance security and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

• Experience in CCTV monitoring, security operations, or surveillance technology.
• Basic knowledge of networked security systems, video management software, and access control.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to detect security risks or policy violations quickly.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting minor technical issues in security equipment.
• Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Understanding of data privacy regulations related to surveillance footage and employee monitoring.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in CCTV operations, security systems, or IT-related fields.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles related to video surveillance.
• Able to work in shifting schedules, including graveyard and mid shift.
