STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
CLINICAL (All Positions)- Deliver a patient-centered approach to care.
- Participate in the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs of care for OPD patients.
- Participate in the management and care of the patient.
- Assist physicians in examination and treatment procedures.
- Participate in the health education needs of the patient.
- Administer medication upon physician’s order.
- Register and encode patient data in the Biz Box HIS System and spreadsheet to ensure a “First Come, First Served” basis per service.
- Keep accurate and legible records and be aware of the legal implications of these documents.
- Implement appropriate practices in line with PHI Policies and Procedures.
- Respect the dignity and confidentiality of each patient at all times, serving as an advocate if necessary.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
- Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings.
- Be cost-effective in the use of equipment and material resources.
- Ensure that actual and potential problems are referred appropriately.
- Participate in maintaining and supporting a satisfactory learning environment.
- Act as mentor to personnel new in the department.
TECHNICAL DUTIES
As OPD Staff Nurse Reception- Responsible for basic clerical tasks such as answering phones, greeting patients and visitors, and scheduling appointments professionally and timely.
- Collect and register patient data.
- Maintain confidentiality and good phone manners.
- Know doctors’ schedules.
- Review and update patient records including laboratory and diagnostic procedure results prior to appointments.
- Conduct systematic filing of patient charts at OPD medical records.
- Prepare, clean, and maintain the reception area.
- Perform other duties assigned by superiors.
- Ensure confidentiality in all matters of information obtained during employment.
- Facilitate Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) approval for the availment of hospital services for patients.
- Orient clients regarding covered and non-covered diagnostic procedures/admissions.
- Identify and resolve client issues in coordination with the HMO Liaison Officer or Medical Team.
- Prepare and facilitate HMO policy additions, deletions, and reviews.
- Maintain and update client medical and other records.
- Facilitate HMO contracts for doctors.
- Update the hospital’s HMO list.
- Prepare relevant reports on HMO utilization.
- Conduct regular inventory of HMO Referral/LOA Forms.
- Schedule and implement annual/periodic/special examinations of HMO and Corporate clients.
- Facilitate accreditation of Active Consultants to various HMO accounts of the hospital.
- Submit monthly HMO census report for the Outpatient Department.
- Submit transmittal reports to the billing section.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Prepare and assist patients for examination by taking vital signs and escorting them to the doctors’ clinics.
- Ensure that all consulting patient charts are complete and systematically arranged in doctors’ clinic rooms.
- Encode patient names in the spreadsheet to ensure the “First Come, First Served” system.
- Charge professional fees accurately and assist patients to the cashier.
- Coordinate with the Officer in Charge of the Clinic Area all prescriptions for proper instruction and acquisition at PHI Pharmacy.
- Ensure that all clinic rooms and nurse stations are clean at all times.
- Assist doctors and patients during procedures in OB-Gyne Ultrasound, ENT Center, Aesthetic Center, and Audiometry.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to the above duties, the incumbent is expected to deliver Quality Care and Safety in any situation throughout the hospital, whether self-initiated or directed, whenever the opportunity presents itself — even if such action or service is not directly related to core tasks — as it aligns with and supports the corporate Vision, Mission, and Values and improves customer service delivery.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Academic/Professional Qualifications:
- Registered General Nurse
Relevant Experience:
- At least one (1) year work experience as a Registered Nurse Practitioner
