What is the job?

The Prior Authorization Specialist is responsible in securing insurance approvals for medical procedures, services, and medications.

Responsibilities:

• Review patient records to determine prior authorization requirements.
• Submit authorization requests via phone, fax, or online portals.
• Verify patient eligibility and gather required clinical documentation.
• Follow up on pending authorizations to ensure timely approvals.
• Communicate status with providers, patients, and internal teams.
• Resolve denials, maintain records, and ensure compliance with guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in healthcare administration, medical billing, or prior authorization.
• Experience working in healthcare operations with patient interaction.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare workflows.
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential patient information.
• Demonstrates the ability to collaborate effectively with clinical teams and internal stakeholders.
