Posted on 22 April 2025- Prepare and Position Patients for Imaging
- Set up, calibrate, and operate diagnostic imaging equipment
- Monitor radiation exposure and ensure that protocols are followed for safe imaging practices.
- Review the images to ensure clarity, sharpness, and proper positioning. Retake images if necessary to meet the diagnostic requirements.
- Work with radiologists to help interpret images, assist during specialized procedures (e.g., fluoroscopy), and ensure images are sent to the radiologist in a timely manner.
- Ensure that patients are safely positioned, preventing unnecessary movement during the procedure.
- Report any equipment issues to supervisors or the maintenance department promptly.
- Keep detailed records of all imaging results and ensure they are properly stored and accessible for review by medical staff.
- Maintain a clean and sterile environment in imaging rooms and equipment areas.
- Educate patients about preparation or follow-up care.
- Regularly assess the quality of images and resolve any technical issues related to the equipment or imaging process.
Qualifications/Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic TechnologyExperience/Training: Licensed/Registered Radiologic Technologist
Knowledge/Skills: Ability to monitor radiation exposure levels and ensure safety for patients and healthcare staff.
Ability to provide compassionate, empathetic care to patients, understanding the emotional and physical challenges they face during cancer treatment.Ability to work effectively with radiologists, oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary team.
