About The Client
An Indie Game company located in Dallas, Texas, USA is seeking a Contract Web Developer to take part of the engineering side of web-based casino games. You will be building browser-based casino games, powered by a custom Python back-end and a PixiJS/Svelte front-end SDK.
Contract Overview
As Full-Stack Web Developer on a 2-month remote contract you will support engineering efforts for a series fully playable casino games. You'll collaborate with our designers and art support, and work with the engineering team on architecture, coding, integration, and delivery of all game-play logic, UI, and system behaviors.
What You'll Do- Scope and implement all game-play systems, UI logic, and back-end interactions.
- Build responsive, interactive game UIs using Svelte, PixiJS, or similar frameworks
- Integrate with and extend an existing Python-based back-end library
- Collaborate with our design team to deliver fully polished games
- Optimize for performance, clarity, and maintainability within a tight timeline
- Communicate progress clearly and regularly via Slack/Discord, Jira, or equivalent tools
- All engineering-related tasks — front-end, back-end, integration, and polish
- High-level technical decisions and architecture choices (with input from our leads)
- 2+ years of front-end or full-stack development experience
- Proficient in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python
- Experience with rendering/game-focused frameworks (e.g. PixiJS, Three.js, Canvas)
- Familiar with component-driven architecture (e.g. Svelte, React, or Vue)
- Ability to work independently in a rapid development cycle
- Familiar with REST APIs, Git-based workflows, and basic CI/CD
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and delivery focus
- Minimum 2+ years hands-on experience with rendering/game frameworks such as PixiJS is required
- Experience with creative pipelines or 2D/3D tooling (e.g. Figma, SketchUp, Photoshop)
- Familiarity with FastAPI, SvelteKit, or browser-based performance optimization
- UI testing experience (Cypress, Playwright)
- Timeline: 2 month

- Location: Remote (with some EST overlap preferred)

- Extension: Possible based on project outcome and future roadmap
