About the role
One Outsource Direct Corporation is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team in Manila City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to take on a strategic role within our mechanical engineering operations.As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading complex mechanical engineering projects, providing technical expertise, and mentoring junior engineering staff. This role is crucial to our company's continued success and growth in the engineering sector, requiring both technical excellence and leadership capabilities.
Key responsibilities- Lead the design, analysis, and development of mechanical systems and components from conception through to production
- Conduct detailed calculations, simulations, and feasibility studies to ensure optimal mechanical design solutions
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, drawings, and engineering reports
- Oversee the testing and validation of mechanical prototypes and systems to ensure compliance with performance requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality assurance, and project management to ensure seamless project execution
- Mentor and supervise junior mechanical engineers and support their professional development
- Ensure all mechanical designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements
- Review and approve engineering work completed by team members to maintain quality standards
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical recommendations to stakeholders
- Troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions to resolve mechanical design challenges
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role
- Strong proficiency in mechanical design software (such as CAD tools, CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar)
- Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes
- Experience in performing stress analysis, thermal analysis, and other advanced simulations
- Proven track record of successfully leading engineering projects from inception to completion
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to mentor and manage team members effectively
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory compliance requirements
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure or certification is preferred
- Experience in project management methodologies and tools is advantageous
