Key Responsibilities
- Medication Dispensing
- Review prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness
- Dispense prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs
- Verify dosage, drug interactions, and contraindications
- Patient Counseling
- Educate patients on medication usage, dosage, side effects, and storage
- Provide guidance on drug interactions and lifestyle considerations
- Address patient questions regarding medications
- Clinical Duties
- Monitor patient drug therapies and recommend adjustments if needed
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Review patient medication history
- Inventory Management
- Maintain pharmacy inventory and ensure adequate stock
- Monitor drug expiration dates and proper storage
- Coordinate with suppliers and manage medication orders
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate patient records and prescription documentation
- Follow pharmacy safety and quality standards.
- Bachelor’s of Pharmacy (Degree) from an accredited institution
- Licensed Pharmacist (license required by local regulatory authority)
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, pharmacology, and drug interactions
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and counseling skills
- Knowledge of pharmacy management systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Problem-solving and clinical judgment
