Apparel Buyer (PENSHOPPE GROUP)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Fashion Buyer/Product Officer generally handles select product categories and works closely with all groups involved in the sourcing, development, production and delivery of all merchandise sold in our stores; works hand in hand with our vendors to ensure that every piece of a collection is delivered in-full and on-time.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Negotiates price and delivery timelines with vendors
• Prepares Price Docs and Purchase Orders for approval
• Monitors progress of all orders in all key stages (from product development to delivery) or via factory visits
• Alerts concerned departments whenever a PO is in danger of not meeting the target delivery date or if there are inconsistencies/ deviations from agreed plans
• Issues documentation for all date changes and recommends penalties, if applicable
• Acts as the vendors’ point person in GABC for the entire order process, including product development

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of Clothing Technology, Fashion Design and Merchandising, or other related courses.
• At least 1 year of experience working as buyer in a fashion retail industry, or supplier/vendor/manufacturing serving fashion companies
• Knowledge in costing and basic garment production
• Knowledge in fabric sourcing
• Strong negotiation skills
• Good analytical skills and with a keen eye to details.
• Customer focused and results-driven.
• Amenable to reporting on-site at Balintawak, QC
