Production Planning Assistant

About the role

You will work closely with the production planning team to maintain schedules, track production progress, and facilitate communication between various departments to meet our operational targets and customer commitments.

1. Assist in developing and maintaining production schedules and timelines
2. Monitor production progress and track key performance indicators against planned schedules
3. Prepare and update production reports for management review
4. Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement and logistics teams to ensure schedule adherence
5. Identify scheduling conflicts and bottlenecks, escalating issues to senior planners as required
6. Maintain accurate production data and documentation in planning systems
7. Support demand forecasting and inventory planning activities
8. Assist in optimising production sequences to minimise lead times and reduce waste
9. Communicate schedule updates to relevant departments and stakeholders
10. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning and scheduling processes

1. Bachelor's Degree preferably Business Administration related course; further qualifications in production management, supply chain or manufacturing are desirable
2. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
3. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
5. Basic understanding of production planning, scheduling and manufacturing processes
6. Competent communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams
7. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
8. Problem-solving mindset with the capacity to identify and propose practical solutions
9. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems or production planning software is advantageous
10. Previous experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment would be beneficial
