- Planning
- 1 Programs the sequence and priority of action steps to be followed by his/her team;
- 2 Formulates Database Administration’s policies, guidelines and procedures as well as Database Administration Projects;
- 3 Reviews the report on system performance and capacity and recommends solutions;
- 4 Provides advice/consultation on database administration-related matters to all units/departments/divisions as needed;
- 5 Provides input in the annual Database Administration budget planning; and,
- 6 Anticipates needs and concerns that may arise, and comes up with remedial plans of action to address it.
- Leading
- 1 Participates and make recommendations to Database Administration Manager/Assistant Vice President for System Operations following the recruitment, selection and placement policies of the Company;
- 2 Develops and motivates staff to help them improve their competencies;
- 3 Initiates and/or attends to various coordination meetings for consultations which require immediate actions, clarifications and resolutions of issues; and,
- 4 Presides over department meetings, in the absence of the Database Administration Manager.
- Organizing
- 1 Conducts coordination and/or planning meetings, in the absence of the Database Administration Manager;
- 2 Establishes work relationships and delegates authority to ensure cooperative efforts of staff.
- Controlling
- 1 Oversees team progress in accomplishing set goals/objectives and implements necessary action plans to address any discrepancy from the agreed deliverables and timelines;
- 2 Assesses the work progress and actual performance of staff based on established performance standards and indicators;
- 3 Manages risks related to database information. (e.g. database corruption, data inconsistencies and server);
- 4 Provides reports and submits the team’s accomplishments and performance on set deadlines; and,
- 5 Oversees compliance of staff to Company policies, guidelines and procedures.

- B.S. in Electronics & Communications Engineering, Computer Science or any 4-year IT-related course
- Preferably with Microsoft certification on Azure DBA Associate
- Must have at least 8 years of relevant experience
- Experience with Database Architectures, Design and Management, MS SQL, Sybase, or Oracle
- With in-depth knowledge in cloud platforms like Azure and AWS
- With experience as cloud DBA
