Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or a related finance role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for liaising with lawyers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions and recordkeeping
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and lawyer requirements
  • Strong process improvement mindset with the ability to enhance efficiency and compliance
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • Experience within a legal, professional services, or corporate environment is an advantage
Responsibilities
  • Process supplier and disbursement invoices and allocate expenses to the appropriate matter codes
  • Monitor trust account balances to ensure sufficient funds are available for disbursements
  • Process daily and weekly payments, including ABA payment files
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Reconcile monthly credit card statements and investigate variances
  • Maintain accurate records to support Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) reporting requirements
  • Set up new suppliers in the system and verify banking details
  • Respond promptly to queries from lawyers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Assist with month-end close activities and finance reporting requirements
  • Support the Finance Team Leader and Head of Finance with ad hoc finance and administrative tasks
