Safety Officer

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Engineering and other related courses
• Must possess a valid Construction Occupational Safety & Health (COSH) Certificate
• At Least two (2) years of experience as a Safety Officer in a construction project
• Knowledgeable in DOLE Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS) and other applicable regulations
• Strong understanding of construction safety practices and hazard identification
• Preferably with First Aid and BOSH/ COSH-related training certifications
• Proficient in various software applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD etc.)
• Excellent communication (both verbal & written) & interpersonal skills
• Self- starter, detail oriented, highly organized and pro-active
• Responsible, trustworthy and a team player

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Ensure compliance with DOLE OSH Standards and company safety policies
• Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify potential hazards
• Implement and monitor safety programs, policies and procedures
• Facilitate toolbox meetings, safety orientations and training for workers
• Investigate accidents/ incidents and prepare detailed reports with recommendations
• Ensure proper use of personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all personnel
• Coordinate with project engineers and supervisors to ensure safety measures
• Maintain and update safety records, reports and documentation
• Monitor compliance with safety signage, barricades and emergency procedures
• Liaise with government agencies during inspections and audits
• Promote safety awareness and enforce disciplinary actions for violations
