About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join One Outsource Direct Corporation in Manila City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our supply chain operations. As a Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and services that are essential to our manufacturing and logistics operations.This role is strategically important to our organisation, ensuring that we maintain cost efficiency whilst upholding quality standards and delivery timelines that support our business objectives.
Key responsibilities- Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards
- Preparing and issuing purchase orders, requests for quotation (RFQs), and tender documents
- Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing and delivery schedules
- Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with warehouse and operations teams to maintain adequate stock
- Tracking and reconciling purchase orders, invoices, and delivery receipts
- Managing supplier relationships and addressing any quality or delivery issues promptly
- Conducting market research and analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all procurement activities
- Collaborating with finance, operations, and production teams to ensure procurement aligns with organisational needs
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procurement regulations
- A secondary school qualification as a minimum; tertiary qualifications in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field are highly desirable
- Proven experience of 2-3 years in a purchasing, procurement, or inventory management role within the manufacturing or logistics sector
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favourable terms and pricing with suppliers
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
- Proficiency with procurement software systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and supply chain best practices
- Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively to a team environment
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage supplier issues and discrepancies
- Familiarity with local and international sourcing practices is advantageous
