FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive services for patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency disorders. Working within an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, the SLP supports recovery and improvement in communication and swallowing function for patients affected by neurological, developmental, traumatic, or medical conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing function.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
- Provide speech and language therapy, voice therapy, and swallowing rehabilitation across inpatient, outpatient, or home care settings.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, physical and occupational therapists, psychologists, nurses, and other members of the rehab team.
- Educate patients and families on communication techniques and strategies for daily living.
- Document evaluation results, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with medical and regulatory standards.
Qualifications/Requirements
QUALIFICATION- Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- With or without work experience.
- Empathy, patience, and adaptability in diverse clinical situations.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
