IT Business Analyst

JOB SUMMARY

The IT Business Analyst supports enterprise and technology-enabled initiatives through business analysis, requirements management, process modelling, and delivery support.

The role works closely with business stakeholders, Project Managers, and IT delivery teams to gather and analyze requirements, support solution design and implementation, and ensure business needs are translated into effective technology and operational solutions.

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, experience in business process analysis and modelling using BPMN and UML, and the ability to support multiple initiatives in a collaborative delivery environment. Familiarity with Jira, SharePoint, and related collaboration tools is preferred, while willingness and capability to learn organization-specific tools and methodologies are essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Gather, analyze, validate, and manage business, functional, and system requirements through stakeholder workshops and discovery sessions.
• Translate business needs into requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, documenting and managing them in Jira and approved platforms.
• Support prioritization, refinement, change management, and delivery readiness across Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall.
• Facilitate validation and stakeholder alignment, and maintain requirements traceability, governance, and documentation across delivery.

• Perform process analysis and modelling for current-state and future-state assessments using BPMN, UML, and related techniques.
• Conduct analysis for problem identification, solution evaluation, and decision-making.
• Identify operational inefficiencies, risks, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
• Recommend practical, scalable solutions and support process improvement and technology-enabled initiatives.

• Configure and maintain Jira projects, workflows, issue types, dashboards, filters, and reports using JQL and approved platforms.
• Maintain platform hygiene, workflow standards, and issue lifecycle management.
• Support troubleshooting, user guidance, and improvement of collaboration platforms.

• Support administration of SharePoint sites, libraries, lists, repositories, and document management features.
• Manage documentation structure, metadata, version control, permissions, and governance.
• Provide user support and guidance, and coordinate access and documentation lifecycle.

• Develop and maintain business analysis artefacts, specifications, process flows, and traceability documentation.
• Support documentation quality, version control, and information management across delivery.
• Maintain centralized documentation repositories in SharePoint and related platforms.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and status updates for visibility and decision-making.

• Act as liaison between business stakeholders, Project Managers, developers, QA, and vendors, aligning requirements with technical delivery.
• Support UAT and validation: planning, coordination, issue management, and sign-off.
• Proactively communicate progress, risks, issues, and dependencies to stakeholders.
• Support business readiness, implementation coordination, and user adoption.

• Identify inefficient processes and recommend automation, integration, or workflow improvements.
• Support analysis, requirements, and design for automation and integration.
• Collaborate with business and IT to evaluate, implement, test, and improve automated solutions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and report on automation and integration initiatives.
• Demonstrate adaptability and willingness to learn organization-specific tools, platforms, and delivery methodologies that support business and operational objectives.

• Work schedule and reporting arrangements shall follow company and department policies.
• Flexibility to support project, testing, implementation, and delivery as coordinated.
• Ability to support multiple initiatives across varying schedules and priorities.
• Availability for workshops, testing, deployment, or critical activities when needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years as a Business Analyst or IT Business Analyst on technology-enabled projects and solution delivery.
• Strong analysis skills: requirements, documentation, user stories, acceptance criteria, traceability, and stakeholder management.
• Experience in process analysis and modelling (BPMN, UML) and recommending practical solutions.
• Working knowledge of Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall, including testing and implementation support.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and diagramming tools, with familiarity with Jira and SharePoint.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills across multiple initiatives.
• Willingness to learn organization-specific tools: Jira, SharePoint, automation, and integration.

• Certifications in business analysis, PM, or Agile (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA, CSM).
• Experience with Atlassian tools: Jira administration, Confluence, and workflow configuration.
• Experience with SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, and document management.
• Familiarity with SQL, reporting, BI, or data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of ITSM, ITIL, change management, or governance frameworks.
• Experience with automation, RPA, Power Platform, integrations, APIs, or iPaaS.
