Job Description

HVAC engineers design HVAC systems for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, considering factors like building size, occupancy, and energy efficiency.

Load Calculations: They perform heating and cooling load calculations to determine the appropriate size and capacity of HVAC equipment.

HVAC engineers select suitable HVAC equipment, such as air conditioners, furnaces, and ventilation systems, based on project requirements and budget.

System Layout and Design: They create detailed HVAC system layouts and designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software.

Installation and Commissioning: They oversee the installation of HVAC systems and ensure proper commissioning to ensure optimal performance.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance: They diagnose and resolve issues with HVAC systems and provide technical support during construction phases.

They collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems within the overall building design.

Documentation: They prepare project reports and documentation related to HVAC system design, installation, and maintenance.

Qualifications/Requirements

Mechanical Engineering Degree: A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is typically required.
