PRESIDENT/MANAGING DIRECTOR

1 Vacancy

Job Description:

  • Propose country strategy and provide inputs for regional strategy
  • Ensure alignment of all stakeholders in AH and in Airbus with the approved strategy
  • Ensure that the CC maintains high standards of corporate citizenship and social responsibility
  • Protect the CC interests and preserve its assets
  • Make sure that legal requirements are known and respected. Represent the company in the court of justice when relevant
  • Lead by personal example and ensure all employees conduct their activities in accordance with local applicable laws, Airbus standards and policies (E&C, HSE...), guidance given by the Governance bodies
  • Make sure that insurance policies are coherent with the risks attached to the company activities
  • Apply the AH governance policy (including A1043)
  • Act as a direct liaison between the Board and the management of the CC. Ensures the Directors are properly informed and sufficient information is provided to the Board
  • In concert with the Chairman, convene the annual meeting of shareholders and Board of Directors. Lead the meetings following the Airbus template agenda.

Responsibilities

Strategy

Legal

  • Protect the CC interests and preserve its assets
  • Make sure that legal requirements are known and respected. Represent the company in the court of justice when relevant
  • Lead by personal example and ensure all employees conduct their activities in accordance with local applicable laws, Airbus standards and policies (E&C, HSE...), guidance given by the Governance bodies
  • Make sure that insurance policies are coherent with the risks attached to the company activities
Governance
  • Apply the AH governance policy (including A1043)
  • Act as a direct liaison between the Board and the management of the CC. Ensures the Directors are properly informed and sufficient information is provided to the Board
  • In concert with the Chairman, convene the annual meeting of shareholders and Board of Directors. Lead the meetings following the Airbus template agenda.
  • Ensure that the decisions taken by the Board of Directors/ the governance bodies are implemented
  • Ensure effective internal controls are in place (ICSA) and comply with audits (Fit Check)
  • Validate and execute the Service Level Agreement between the CC and regional hub or other divisions for all activities performed on their behalf
Planning & Finance
  • Establish the CC’s business plan: accountable for executing the process on time and on quality, accountable for the costs generated by the CC and consulted for the bookings and revenues. Deliver on the CC OP.
  • Define the local capability needs (OPEX, CAPEX, SDP) in coordination with the region
  • Accountable for the business plan execution. Alert the regional management in case of potential deviations and risks and propose recovery plans
  • Allocate budgets and investments in accordance with the business plan and in consistency with the budget decisions taken at regional level
  • Ensure that expenditures of the CC are within the authorized annual budget
  • Define the company performance improvement plan and manage its implementation
  • Optimize the cost control of the CC, in order to contribute to AH performance
  • Assess the risks & opportunities of the CC and ensure they are managed and reported effectively on ERM tools.
Commercial Policy, Support to Sales, Business Development and Contract Execution
  • Act as the country business development leader to build a favorable ecosystem ensuring long-term business capture in coordination with the regional sales
  • Ensure the successful management of the Clear and Efficient Front Office (CEFO)
  • Ensure that the local team supports the Regional Marketing team for market and competitive analysis, marketing plan, promotion initiatives and campaigns, experts’ visits to customers, etc.
  • Ensure that the local team contributes adequately to collecting the data supporting the Sales Funnel and S&OP process
  • Ensure that the CC staff report to the Front Office and to the relevant colleagues in the region any activities in the country having an impact on customer satisfaction and ensures that appropriate actions are taken to address customers’ queries and issues
Operational Management
  • Accountable for the local activity and responsible for regional activities performed locally.
  • Lead and control operations, ensure best possible performances in full compliance with the AH standards
  • Deploy locally AH or regional policies, processes, best practices tools and management systems as required. Define and deploy local operational performance improvements and tools
  • Ensure the global consistency between AH requirements, Airbus governance bodies’ guidance, local regulations and operational market constraints.
HR Management
  • Lead and motivate the CC management team
  • Promote and live by the Airbus Values
  • In coordination with HR, ensure updated knowledge and compliance with local manpower laws
  • Deploy the local HR policy and processes in line with AH and Airbus HR policy
  • Responsible for all day-to-day management decisions related to people in the CC
  • Communicate on behalf of the CC to shareholders, employees, customers and local authorities
  • Demonstrate, encourage and develop Airbus Leadership Model behaviors and ways of working within teams
  • Manage headcount and performance reviews in line with regional targets
  • Ensure deployment of development planning and team reviews across all employees
Quality, Occupational Safety and Aviation Safety
  • Accountable for the CC compliance with AH, international and national requirements for quality, occupational safety, aviation safety and flight operations
  • Ensure the steering of the Safety deployment plan in country in coordination with AH safety organization and region representatives
  • Support the execution of Safety Roadshows in the country
  • Preserve AH integrity with IM security.
  • Apply the security policy for the staff and the visitor in his countries of responsibility
One Roof activities (linked to ACR JD)
  • Ensure appropriate communication to Government and local authorities, customers, other stakeholders (local media, etc.) and the public in the frame of Airbus Group guidelines
  • Ensure the integrity of all public disclosure by the Company
  • Protect and defend the Airbus image in the country(ies)
  • When ADS or AI activities are performed in the country, and require one roof support, ensure the applicable Airbus governance processes are applied, in particular with respect to SLAs and risk management, within a mandate as granted by the divisional P&L.

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications / Requirements
  • Holder of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Studies from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott, Arizona, USA
  • Completed minor coursework in Aeronautical Science, Aviation Weather, and Aviation Navigation
  • FAA-Certified Private Pilot License holder
  • Former part-time Assistant Aircraft Mechani
  • Possesses over 20 years of progressive professional experience in the aviation industry
