Mobile Medical Technologist - Mandaluyong City

Promote and implement laboratory practice standards as mandated by the Department of Health that will serve as foundation to provide the highest level quality of care and strengthen laboratory operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare medical supplies and documents needed for the onsite APE/PEME (including the batch sheets used for tallying the number of samples)
• Validate requests/tests and patient information indicated in the routing slip for laboratory examination
• Perform blood extraction with proper care
• Answer any reasonable and appropriate questions that the patient may ask regarding the phlebotomy procedure.
• Ensures all specimens received (urine, stool, blood samples and body fluids) for laboratory test are properly labeled with barcode that includes patient’s name, gender and company, and assures that sample quantity is sufficient for laboratory procedures prior to testing.
• Performs calibration prior to test and ensures that point of care laboratory analyzers are in good condition
• Process routine and stat samples, performs encoding and evaluates results prior to releasing.
• Endorse samples to the Central Laboratory with appropriate handling and complete forms
• Assigned as Authorized Specimen Collector
• Works in minimal laboratory technical procedures under the supervision of Medical Technologist II.
• Serve as a back-up for clinical team members as needed by controlling patient flow, performing registration and other documentation processes.
• In case there are no onsite APE/PEME/ECU, he/she can be assigned to any clinics/branch to assist the Laboratory department. on-site expertise on direct care for both occupational and non-occupational cases.
• Provide guidance on health screening results and recommend appropriate intervention.
• Assist Company Doctor during check-ups and consultation.
• Maintain an effective and accurate medical record system.
• Manage and track inventory of medicines and supplies for efficient cost management.
• Maintain a quality, clean and safe company's medical clinics

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree, Professional License (Passed Board/Bar/Professional License Exam), Medical Technology or equivalent.
• Preferably 6 months to 1 year of clinical, hospital, or corporate experience
• Newly licensed MedTechs, MedTechs with no clinical experiences yet are encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge of best practices and advancements in the field of laboratory sciences.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety, cleanliness and infection control policies and regulations.
• Knowledge of medical laboratory equipment uses and maintenance. Including techniques, tests and procedures. Proficiency in supply inventory and maintaining laboratory equipment.
• Accuracy – Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
• Computer Skills – Proficient ability to use a computer and electronic medical record.
• Confidentiality – Maintain patient, team member and employer confidentiality. Comply with all HIPAA regulations.
