Clinical DRGV Trainer
Job Description
R1 RCM PHILIPPINES, INC.is seeking an experienced DRGV-Trainer to join our team. This is a full-time position where you will be the onboarding and training of new analysts/auditors, as well as internal quality reviews aimed at identifying areas of improvement and education that would benefit the auditing staff.Additional duties, such as responding to auditing support questions and providing continuous training and support to the auditing team, are also included in this role.
Qualifications:
- 1.5 years in the DRGV-Auditor/Analyst position
- 5 Years of total work experience in Medical Coding, with 3 years of DRG coding experience
- Current AHIMA credentials, such as RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS, are required, with additional Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) credentials, such as CDIP and/or CCDS, preferred
- Must be an SME with up-to-date knowledge of IPPS, UHDDS, ICD-10-CM, and PCS.
- Experience in any EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and Meditech
- Effective communication skills, presentation skills, and proficiency in MS Excel & PowerPoint
- Bachelor's degree in any medical allied course
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work independently and willing to adapt and change as per business/process requirements.
- Should be flexible to adapt to shift timings on a need basis
- A strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction and be service-oriented
- Responsibilities:
- Coordinating new hire boot Camp presentations
- Communication with new auditing staff and leadership
- EMR Navigation Training and Cloudmed Application Training
- Prescribed progress milestone review
- Weekly reporting to management
- Daily QA of all trainees casework
- Updating of processes on a need basis and contribution of learning materials as needed
- Review a monthly sampling of accounts to identify opportunities for education and support for the auditing staff.
- Identification of trends for reporting to management and creation of reports for submission
- Provide continuing education, training, guidance, and support to maintain elite standards
- Researching, escalating, and responding to auditor support questions as triaged by leadership
- Review inpatient medical records for validation of DRG assignment
- Provide detailed rationale and supporting evidence for recommendations and findings
- Utilize industry-recognized references to support their review findings, such as the ICD-10 Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting, AHIMA Standards of Ethical Coding, AHIMA Practice Briefs related to compliant querying, and AHA Coding Clinic
