Compliance Officer

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of a degree in civil/chemical/sanitary/environmental engineering/Forestry;
• Preferably Master’s Degree holder in Environmental Engineering or related field and/or license holder in Environmental Planning;
• Familiar with all current environmental regulations in the Philippines, preferably accredited as a Pollution Control Officer by LLDA or DENR.
• At least 3 years’ experience in the field of environmental management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Checks and reviews implementation of internal compliance procedures and assesses compliance performance of all operational facilities, ancillaries, projects, and programs against external regulatory policies and applicable laws and regulations. Follow through corrective and improvement measures especially if there are internal and external policy changes. Conducts capacity-building activities and maintains harmonious relationships with regulatory agencies.
• Conducts periodic review, updating and audit to ensure that compliance procedures are followed.
• Disseminates written policies and procedures related to compliance activities.
• Maintains documentation of compliance activities, such as complaints received or investigation outcomes.
• Conducts environmental and safety assessment to ensure adherence to environmental and safety standards and regulations.
• Implements environmental programs, such as air or water compliance, spill prevention or control, hazardous waste or materials management, solid waste recycling, medical waste management, employee training, or disaster preparedness.
• Checks and reviews status of corrective and preventive measures including resolution status.
• Establishes harmonious relationships with regulatory agencies, at the division or department head level, on transactions and special cases.
• Implements watershed and water source related improvement programs and project.
