Job Overview
We're looking for a commercially-savvy legal professional to support our deal execution and contract management. In this hands-on role, you'll help structure agreements that balance commercial objectives with risk mitigation, working closely with business teams to move deals forward
Competencies Needed for the Role
You must be experienced in driving commercial contracts balancing commercial viability and risks. You have the natural ability to Transform complex negotiations into executable, profitable agreements. You will also manage full cycle commercial risk and profitability.
You must possess a comprehensive understanding of commercial law, contracts, and regulatory compliance, combined with strategic legal insight and effective communication skills. This enables him to navigate complex legal issues, drive business growth, mitigate risks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts, including joint venture agreements, service contracts, and other business-critical agreements.
- Ensure compliance with energy sector regulations, laws, and industry standards.
- Provide expert advice on commercial law matters, including contract disputes, claims, and negotiations.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with commercial transactions and business operations.
- Support business development initiatives by providing legal guidance on commercial transactions and partnerships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business development, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment and effective decision-making.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on commercial legal matters, including contract status, disputes, and regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B or J.D.) and a valid law license.
- At least 7 years of experience in commercial law, preferably in the energy sector.
- Strong understanding of energy sector regulations, laws, and industry standards.
- Proven experience in contract management, negotiation, and drafting.
- Experience in trademark and patent application and relevant matters.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-lawyers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think strategically and provide practical solutions.
