Planning and Design Specialist - Quezon City
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Planning and Design Specialist is responsible for creating detailed technical designs, producing visual presentations, and preparing project resource loading plans based on material, manpower, and equipment requirements. This role combines technical expertise in CAD and 3D design with resource allocation planning to ensure well-prepared project executions aligned with organizational standards.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Master's degree is a plus.
Related Work Experience
Proven experience in technical design (CAD drafting, 3D rendering) and project resource planning within an engineering, construction, or retail development environment.
Knowledge (knowledgeable in the following):
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Lumion software.
- Familiarity with construction design standards, interior layouts, and Philippine building codes and regulations.
- Understanding of resource loading principles for materials, manpower, and equipment.
Skills:
- Strong technical proficiency in drafting, layout design, and 3D visualization.
- Ability to prepare resource loading and allocation plans based on project designs.
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple design and planning tasks simultaneously.
- Good communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to perform basic construction cost estimations based on technical drawings.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or Architect license is an advantage.
- Certification in Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an advantage.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and Technical Drawings:
- Prepare accurate technical drawings, plans, and 3D renderings for engineering, construction, and retail development projects.
- Produce layouts, floor plans, elevations, and 3D visualizations using AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Lumion.
- Ensure all designs comply with functional requirements, organizational standards, and applicable Philippine codes.
Resource Loading and Allocation Planning:
- Develop detailed resource loading plans derived from approved design drawings.
- Identify and quantify material requirements, manpower needs, and equipment utilization necessary for project execution.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Procurement teams to align resource loading with project schedules and deliverables.
- Assist in forecasting and adjusting resource plans based on project changes or design revisions.
Construction Cost Estimation:
- Prepare basic construction cost estimates and materials take-offs based on final design outputs.
- Support budget preparation by providing quantity breakdowns and resource requirement lists.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Work collaboratively with Engineering, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure design and resource plans are fully aligned with project needs and operational constraints.
Design Standards Compliance:
- Ensure all technical outputs meet relevant Philippine building standards, safety regulations, and internal quality requirements.
Continuous Improvement:
- Recommend improvements to the resource planning and design process for better efficiency and accuracy.
- Contribute to the development of templates, checklists, and standards for resource loading and design documentation.
Communication:
- Provide regular updates to Engineering leadership on design progress, resource plans, and potential challenges.
- Facilitate collaboration with project stakeholders to resolve design and resource-related issues early.
