Who we’re looking for:
As part of the global support team based in Parañaque, Metro Manila, the Cost Engineer will work closely with the Senior and Chief Estimator in Australia to provide engineering services for the preparation of tenders that reflect current construction methodologies, ensure accuracy in their composition, and remain competitive in the market in order to secure profitable work for the construction divisions. Using your high level of communication skills, you will be responsible for:
- Review tender documents for scope of works, contract requirements, form of tender and alternative design options
- Discuss the proposed methods of work with Construction Managers, Estimators and others
- Conduct and assist in the preparation, checking or measuring of schedules or bills of quantities.
- Build an estimate of direct costs and site overhead costs for each allocated tender.
- Assess the risks and opportunities in the construction of the project and communicate to bid teams.
- Participate in the tender reviews and prepare final submission.
- Have a thorough knowledge of the Drawings, Specifications and Quality, OH&S, and Environmental requirements for all site related activities.
- Manage and administer distribution of RFI’s for tenders
- Assist in and acquire subcontractor quotations.
The successful candidate will lead by example with:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Advanced and highly skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Teams)
- Demonstrates strong proficiency in both written and verbal English
- 2-3 years’ experience in construction industry
- The ability to establish and maintain relationships across different functions in a global business
