Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is looking for Software Technical Support Engineer to provide technical support to customers and be part of the testing regime to ensure delivery of high quality, world class software applications, with high customer satisfaction.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Get involved in the entire lifecycle of the SDLC
  • Understand the requirement and ensure quality deliverables
  • Manage test equipment inventory (Toshiba and Client’s), track assets, coordinate with manager to acquire additional equipment.
  • Stage/set-up test environment including hardware and software installations
  • Set daily priorities and manage test activities to ensure project test schedules/deliveries are met.
  • Communicate closely with the project team on test statuses, risks, mitigation plans, etc.
  • Create test cases from software design documents, execute test cases, manage defects to resolution.
  • Testing scope include both functional (eg. unit testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing, etc) & non-functional functional testing (usability, performance, etc)
  • Testing automation as much as feasible
  • Create documentation for various initiatives including test plans, custom installation procedures, process improvements, etc.
  • Provide on-site support (as needed) and work with clients upon software delivery, participate in external project meetings.
  • Senior Technical Support Software Engineer
  1. Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding testing planning, status, progresses, etc
  2. Manage test team resources and ensure best practices are followed; take action when discrepancies arise.
  3. Review custom software design documents and participate in design review discussions, providing input from QA perspective.
  4. Provide test estimates for system setup and configuration, test case creation, execution time and resource requirements.
  5. Lead, guide and monitor the analysis, design, implementation and execution of test cases, test procedures and test results.
  6. Provide recommendations to the project team for shipping solutions to clients. Provide input to “Go”/”No Go” decisions.

Technical Skills Requirements:

  • At least 2-5 years (>5-8 years for senior) of relevant experience
  • Experience with test methodologies and SDLC.
  • Experience with setting up a test environment creating a full integrated solution.
  • Test Automation experience (Postman, Selenium, Jenkins, Cucumber, TestNG).
  • Retail knowledge is highly desirable
  • Worked in high performance and cross-functional Agile software engineering teams that used practices like Kanban/Scrum/Lean/XP, Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration/ Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), etc.
  • Good understanding of end-to-end application architecture

  • Good communication skills
  • Good problem solving skills, patience and detail oriented
  • Ability to easily grasp and understand user’s requirements, from both business & technical perspective
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • Diploma/BSc in CS/IS/IT or equivalent
  • Retail domain knowledge: store operation, POS software functionality knowledge and integration knowledge with backend ERP systems
  • Experience with DevOps practices and Automation tools

Work Arrangement:

Under normal circumstances, you will be expected to work either at our office or on a customer site 3 times a week, with the flexibility to work from home twice a week.

However, depending on the project phase, you may be required to:

  • Work on-site at the customer’s project location for the entire week.
  • Work outside of standard office hours based on project needs.
