The SME Account Officer is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing relationships with Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) clients. The role focuses on assessing client needs, recommending suitable loan or financial products, evaluating creditworthiness, and ensuring sound portfolio management in line with the bank’s risk appetite and regulatory standards.

• Develop and manage a portfolio of SME clients by promoting the bank’s loan and financial products tailored for small and medium-sized businesses.
• Conduct thorough financial analysis and credit evaluation of SME clients, including site visits and business profiling.
• Prepare and present credit proposals and loan packages for approval by the Credit Committee.
• Monitor loan accounts, ensure timely renewals, and manage collections or restructuring as needed.
• Identify opportunities for cross-selling of other banking products (e.g., deposits, cash management, insurance).
• Maintain good relationships with existing clients while actively sourcing new accounts to grow the SME portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., BSP guidelines).
• Provide regular reports and updates on account status, loan pipeline, and market conditions to management.
• Collaborate with Risk, Legal, Operations, and Branch Teams to ensure smooth account onboarding and servicing.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Banking & Finance, Economics, or related field.
• At least 2–3 years of experience in SME lending, credit analysis, or account management in a bank or financial institution.
• Solid understanding of SME business models and industry practices.
• Proficient in financial statement analysis, loan structuring, and credit risk assessment.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation compliance.
