Evaluate project scopes, measurements and specifications to accurately determine material and labor cost.
- Complete all estimates or quantity take-off in a timely manner and in accordance with Australia’s national construction code with accuracy.
- Create initial cost estimates using floor plan only and standard details for designs that are still on development stage.
- Communicate with the point of contact thru email or virtual meeting to clarify any uncertainties in the plans or specifications.
- Carry out tasks assigned by client (e.g. cost comparison reports, bill of material reports, database update, BOQ updates) from time to time or as needed.
- Collaborate with individuals at various seniority levels, including clients, staff and external partners.
- At least 1 year of experience in Estimating or a related field and Experience in Residential Estimation.
- Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Production Estimation or related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Previous experience with Sage Estimating or Data build Estimating software is an advantage but not required as training will be provided.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite especially Excel.
- Can meet project deadlines and can work under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, critical and analytical skills to evaluate plans and pinpoint potential risks or opportunities for cost savings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a positive ‘can do’ attitude and collaborate proactively with team members or clients.
