Store Nutrition and Wellness Specialist (NWS)
PYC Foods Corporation Makati Full-time
STORE NUTRITION AND WELLNESS SPECIALIST (NWS)
The Store Nutrition and Wellness Specialist (NWS) turns the One World Deli promise, Eat Well. Live Fully, into guest-level guidance and a measurable commercial result on the floor. The role is the field execution layer across the department's three pillars: Retail and Consultations, QA and Audit, and Education Research and Content. The NWS advises within a non-clinical, additive, and non-restrictive philosophy, guiding guests toward foods that are closer to whole rather than away from foods they enjoy, in the language of eating rather than buying. The NWS is the only role that gives nutrition guidance.
Commercial outcomes follow from sound guidance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Guest guidance and the Eat Well Ladder (Retail and Guidance)- Actively engage guests on the sales floor, read the situation, and recommend products that align with each guest's nutritional needs and preferences, in the language of eating rather than buying.
- Coordinate loyalty-guest outreach with Store and Loyalty support, who run the member text blast, booking, and reminders. The NWS owns the guidance and the conversion: identifying loyalty guests to invite into the Ladder and converting interest into a booked Eat Well Session. Honour opt-out and make no health claims, consistent with RA 10173. Triage still gates enrollment.
- Deliver the Eat Well Session in the house voice. Run triage and the contraindication screen first, then enroll eligible guests into the appropriate program on the Eat Well Ladder (Discover, Enroll, Sustain, Belong).
- Guide guests through the retail category and education on food additives, helping them move closer to whole food without restriction.
- Recommendations serve nutritional need first. The triage gate and the refer-out rule in Section 3 supersede any commercial target.
- At enrollment into a delivery program, confirm program fit within RA 10862 scope, capture dietary exclusions and allergens, confirm payment clearance, then issue the Kitchen Endorsement to the program kitchen.
- Measure with behavioral instruments only: the Eat Well Check-In at start and finish, and the Graduation Check after delivery. Track behavior, knowledge, confidence, and enjoyment. Do not measure or claim clinical outcomes.
- Conduct the Graduation Check after delivery ends. Graduation is whether the habit held once meals stop, not a health result.
- The NWS owns the Eat Well Program end to end, from the guest's first engagement through enrolment, meal delivery, the Graduation Check, and the graduate's return. The NWS is the single point of contact for the enrolled guest: booking their session, enrolling them into the meal delivery program, and handling all coordination arising from it, including any questions routed through the dispatcher. Store and loyalty support handle the mechanical tasks arounp the journey, such as reminders, the member text blast, and basket and loyalty linkage, and route anything touching the guest's program or nutrition to the NWS.
- Grow the guided guest's basket size by connecting nutritional needs to relevant retail items, specialty foods, health-focused products, and prepared meals, communicating their value honestly.
- Increase visit frequency of enrolled members.
- Drive cafe crossover, connecting retail guidance to the cafe, where the governing clause holds: if we would not sell it, we do not cook with it.
- Execute routine, random spot-check audits of approved retail items to verify they still carry the correct approved codes and standard information.
- Spot-check that approved items still carry the exact approved claim wording, with new arrivals checked first.
- Log every discrepancy in the additive logbook and escalate it for correction. The NWS audits and reports. Correction of non-compliant stock sits with the responsible function, not the NWS.
- Maintain a thorough and current understanding of inventory, new product arrivals, and bestselling items, and bring that knowledge to the floor.
- Participate in and support in-store promotions, sampling events, and educational workshops.
- Contribute floor-level insight, including guest questions, objections, and category gaps, back to the department to inform content and research.
- Collaborate with the store team to ensure a positive shopping experience for every guest.
- Coordinate with the Store Manager on coverage, events, and floor priorities.
- Stay up to date with the latest nutritional science research, dietary trends, and product innovations in the healthy food industry.
- Continuously enhance product knowledge across all store departments and the 16-category framework.
- Attend department and store staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Maintain RA 10862 registration in good standing and complete required continuing professional development.
