Quality Assurance Officer

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

• Develops, justifies and implements quality programs that meet process and product standards, clearly recognizing that everyone is responsible for quality
• Conducts training for employees in Standard Operating Procedures of SOP's and ensures training effectiveness in application of job skills
• Provides technical and process direction to Quality Assurance and Production in improving the quality of the finished products
• Participates in other plant teams and programs such as HACCP team and others as assigned
• Ensures accuracy and correctness of Quality Assurance reports
• Conducts regular meeting with QA and/or production on matters pertaining to the over-all implantation of QMS programs
• Communicates new process and/or products to the whole QA team
• Ensures QA schedules effectively monitor quality activities to ensure attainment of customer's requirement
• Performs quality audit of Supplier
• Prepares and updates GMP and SSOP manuals as well as the monitoring forms
• Oversees the Quality Assurance group in conducting the daily GMP checking or monitoring and monthly GMP audits, recommends and identify preventive & corrective actions for deficiencies to be implemented by production
• Conducts GMP Orientations
• Acts as liaison between the company and the third-party auditors
• Oversees the efficient implementation of quality standards, programs and processes to improve operational efficiencies and reduce/eliminate production wastes/rejections.
• Develops corrective and preventive actions to process deviations
• Discuss product rejections and spoilages to top management
• Manages and monitors raw materials substitution in case of urgent need for quality issues.
• Investigates complaints on existing productive and provide response to branch and institutional accounts as customers.
• Recommends and communicates corrective and preventive actions to complaints to all concerned department.
• Implements and follow-up and verified the effectiveness of the corrective and preventive actions to complaints.
• Recommends to the Management any available training for personnel to increase performance efficiency.
• Coaches developed Quality Assurance personnel
• Implements fair and objective evaluation of personnel performance based on measurable parameters.
• Ensures implementation of Code of Ethics including effective handling of labor cases and any deviations in the Code of Conduct requiring disciplinary actions in accordance with the prescribed provision.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: At least 3 years of work experience in the food industry prior to his/her promotion as QA officer.

Training/Licenses/Certifications:

• Food Safety System Certification
• Food Safety Management System
• Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)

Technical Skills:

• Technically competent with familiarity on Quality Assurance concepts and Quality Management Systems: GMP, HACCP and/or ISO
• Knows how to use food laboratory apparatus and equipment
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (i.e. MS Word, Excel)
• Technical knowledge in baking is an advantage
