Purchasing manager

Job Description

The Purchasing Director will lead the end-to-end procurement function for our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring material availability, and driving cost efficiencies while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for raw materials, components, and equipment used in electrical systems manufacturing
• Oversee procurement operations, including purchasing, supplier selection, and contract negotiations
• Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers
• Ensure uninterrupted supply of materials to support production schedules and customer commitments
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead initiatives to improve procurement efficiency
• Collaborate closely with engineering, production, quality, and finance teams for demand planning and inventory optimization
• Monitor supplier performance, quality standards, and delivery timelines
• Mitigate supply chain risks and develop contingency plans
• Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or equivalent preferred)
• 10+ years of experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment, preferably in electrical or electronics industries
• Strong knowledge of electrical components, raw materials, and global supply markets
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing procurement or supply chain teams
• Excellent negotiation, contract management, and vendor management skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
