Senior Accountant
Role Overview
We’re seeking a Senior Accountant who thrives in fast-paced environments and loves building systems from the ground up. This is a hands-on role for someone who is not only technically sharp but also enjoys automating workflows, optimizing month-end close, and being a key partner in financial decision-making.You’ll report directly to the CFO and play a critical role in maintaining accurate financials, tax compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
Own end-to-end accounts payable, vendor setup, and compliance with 1099 guidelines
Manage employee expense reports, payroll entries, and bonus/commission accruals
Support payroll processing and track tax-related filings (state and federal)
Month-End Close & Reporting
Lead reconciliations for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and general accruals
Prepare accurate journal entries and manage balance sheet reconciliations
Drive month-end and year-end close processes in coordination with finance leadership
Compliance & Process Optimization
Assist in external audits and ensure compliance with tax regulations (1099s, sales tax, corporate tax)
Continuously identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting workflows
Maintain and enforce internal controls aligned with US GAAP and ASC 606
Requirements
Must-Have- 3+ years in accounting, preferably in SaaS or public accounting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and experience with prepaid, payroll, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Systems knowledge: QuickBooks Online or NetSuite, Google Sheets (pivot tables, Vlookups), Ramp or Concur, Salesforce, and HRIS systems like Rippling
- Proven experience managing multiple projects with attention to detail and clear communication
- Familiarity with Asc 606 and subscription billing platforms (Zuora, Maxio, Salesforce Cpq)
- Experience using Avalara or Vertex for sales tax
- High-growth or startup experience with a “roll-up-your-sleeves” mindset
- Ability to work cross-functionally and contribute to broader finance strategy
