QA Automation Engineer (Selenium) - Remote

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute robust automated test frameworks using Playwright with TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Conduct manual testing for complex features, exploratory testing, and edge cases not covered by automation.
• Define test strategies aligned with BDD practices using Cucumber/Gherkin.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and analysts to write detailed test cases and acceptance criteria.
• Integrate and manage automated tests within CI/CD pipelines using Selenium WebDriver, Selenium Grid, and related tools.
• Validate backend processes using XML, JSON, and scripting in Java or Python.
• Document test plans, test results, and QA processes clearly using Confluence.
• Track, manage, and report defects using Jira, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues efficiently.
• Mentor junior QA team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in quality engineering.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in QA automation and manual testing in Agile environments.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright using TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Strong background in BDD tools such as Cucumber and writing scenarios in Gherkin.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or other scripting languages for test automation.
• Solid manual testing skills including exploratory and regression testing.
• Experience working with structured data formats like XML and JSON.
• Familiarity with Selenium WebDriver and Selenium Grid.
• Proven experience with Atlassian tools Jira for test/defect tracking and Confluence for documentation.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
• Exposure to performance testing and security testing tools.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
