Technician (mst/ac tech/electrician)

About the role

This role is essential to ensuring that our clients' facilities operate safely and efficiently, and your expertise will directly contribute to the quality of service we deliver and our reputation for excellence in the trades and services sector.

1. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical systems, including pumps, compressors, motors, and related equipment
2. Install, service, and repair air conditioning systems, including refrigeration components, ductwork, and control systems
3. Conduct electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance work in compliance with safety codes and regulations
4. Diagnose equipment malfunctions using diagnostic tools and testing equipment to identify root causes of failures
5. Replace faulty components, parts, and systems to restore equipment to optimal working condition
6. Perform preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
7. Respond promptly to emergency service calls and troubleshoot issues in real time
8. Document all work completed, including labour hours, parts used, and service reports
9. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations when working with electrical, mechanical, and cooling systems
10. Communicate effectively with clients to explain technical issues and provide recommendations for maintenance or upgrades
11. Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and report any deficiencies

1. Technical certification or diploma in Mechanical, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
2. Minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on experience as a technician in mechanical systems, HVAC/air conditioning, or electrical work
3. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, refrigerant recovery equipment, and other trade-specific equipment
4. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, circuit installation, and troubleshooting capabilities
5. Competence in reading technical drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
6. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various client sites
7. Physical fitness and ability to work in various environmental conditions, including heights and confined spaces
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
9. Strong communication and customer service skills
10. Commitment to safety standards and ability to work in a team environment
11. Preferred: Relevant trade certifications (e.g., HVAC certification, electrical licensure, or mechanical technician certification)
12. Preferred: Experience with preventive maintenance programmers and building management systems
