About the Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will report directly to the Accounting Manager and play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely month-end close activities, and compliance with U.S. GAAP. You will take ownership of Operating Expenses (OPEX), Fixed Assets, and Prepaid Accounting, while supervising a Staff Accountant and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to support business operations.

Key Responsibilities- Lead and review the work of a Staff Accountant, ensuring deadlines and accounting controls are met.
- Own the accounting for Operating Expenses (OPEX), including:
- Marketing accruals
- Expense accruals and reclassifications
- DocLink queue review and approvals
- Manage the complete Fixed Assets lifecycle:
- Asset additions
- Disposals
- Depreciation
- Asset rollforwards and reconciliations
- Oversee Prepaid Accounting, including rent, insurance, and event/promotion-related prepaids requiring analytical judgment beyond straight-line amortization.
- Prepare and review journal entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Perform month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and financial analysis.
- Conduct variance (flux) analysis and provide meaningful explanations for financial movements.
- Resolve reconciliation issues and maintain accurate supporting documentation.
- Support annual financial statement audits.
- Recommend and implement process improvements, standardization, and automation initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar accounting role.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Experience performing month-end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
- Pivot Tables
- XLOOKUP / VLOOKUP
- INDEX-MATCH
- SUMIFS / COUNTIFS
- Working with large datasets (100,000+ rows)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze and summarize complex financial data into meaningful reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience identifying accounting issues and exercising sound professional judgment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Mobile device running:
- iOS 15 or later, or
- Android 11 or later
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP.
- Experience with NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or other mid-market ERP systems.
- Background in businesses with annual revenues of $100M+.
- Experience in the automotive parts industry.
