The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and preventive care throughout the establishment to ensure that all equipment, systems, and facilities function efficiently. This role supports the hotel's operations by addressing maintenance issues in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for both guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities:Routine Maintenance and Repairs:
Perform daily inspections of hotel facilities and equipment, addressing issues such as plumbing leaks, electrical malfunctions, and mechanical failures.
Conduct repairs and maintenance work on systems including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on the hotel’s cooling systems, including air conditioning units, HVAC systems, refrigerators, and freezers.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues related to hotel infrastructure (e.g., elevators, lighting, and guest room amenities).
Repair and replace damaged fixtures, furniture, and equipment in guest rooms, public areas, and staff facilities.
Preventive Maintenance:Carry out preventive maintenance schedules for all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to avoid breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
Keep records of maintenance tasks and ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
Inspect and maintain fire alarms, sprinkler systems, emergency lighting, and other safety devices.
Guest-Focused Maintenance:Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff to fix issues related to air conditioning, lighting, water supply, and other room amenities.
Prioritize guest comfort and safety by ensuring timely and efficient repair services to minimize disruption.
Assist with room readiness, ensuring that guest rooms are in perfect working order before check-in.
General Facility Maintenance: Maintain the exterior of the hotel, including landscaping, walkways, and parking areas.
Ensure that hotel signage, lighting, and public spaces are clean, functional, and well-maintained.Assist with event setups and support, including the assembly and disassembly of equipment for meetings and conferences.
Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with local building codes and hotel regulations.
Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials and chemicals in compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications/Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in maintenance or related fields is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in general maintenance, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general carpentry.
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, air conditioning units, and commercial refrigeration equipment is an advantage.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used in building maintenance.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call hours.
