• 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience managing accounting for multi-entity organizations.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, month-end close processes, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Great Plains accounting system and Excel.
• Experience in transportation, logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain industries is strongly preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monthly close process for all subsidiaries, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Prepare and review the monthly financial reporting package for executive leadership, including consolidated and subsidiary-level financial statements.
• Ensure accuracy of balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
• Monitor financial performance and investigate significant variances.

• Support the ongoing optimization and maintenance of the company's accounting systems and financial reporting processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, automation, and operational efficiency within the accounting function.
• Work closely with operations teams to ensure financial data aligns with operational activity across trucking, freight forwarding, and warehousing divisions.

• Coordinate with external CPA firms, tax advisors, and auditors as needed.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Support preparation of materials required for tax filings and financial audits.

• Partner with the Controller and leadership team to provide financial insight and operational support.
• Help mentor accounting staff as the department grows. Currently a team of 4.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across subsidiaries to ensure consistent financial processes and reporting.
