Welder

Job Description

• Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
• Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
• Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
• In-charge of cylinder repair. (Ex. change footring and change valve)
• Report and update customer's cylinder repairs with Plant record.
• Inspect repaired Cylinder thoroughly before turn-over to painting section.
• Performs other related duties as required

Qualifications/Requirements

Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, work in confined or elevated spaces, and lift/move heavy equipment (often up to 50 lbs).

Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to occupational safety protocols, including wearing protective gear like fire-resistant clothing, helmets, and goggles.

Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent, combined with vocational training and industry-recognized certifications (e.g., AWS, TESDA)
