Pattern Maker

The Pattern Maker is responsible for developing precise patterns for children's dresses using Lectra Modaris software, ensuring they meet design, sizing, and production standards. This role is crucial in transforming design concepts into production-ready patterns that ensure garment fit, comfort, safety, and style are maintained, all while being suitable for children's wear.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create first patterns for new children's dress styles using Lectra Modaris.
• Interpret fashion sketches and technical specifications to develop accurate digital patterns.
• Apply correct measurement charts, size grading rules, and garment construction standards specific to children's apparel.
• Attend fit sessions and evaluate sample garments for sizing, proportion, balance, and construction.
• Make necessary pattern corrections based on fit comments and grading standards.
• Collaborate with designers and sample makers to ensure the design vision is preserved while providing functionality for children's wear, including safety, comfort, and age-appropriate fit.
• Utilize Lectra for size grading to create multi-size patterns across various children's size ranges.
• Create and maintain detailed technical specification sheets, including finished garment measurements and construction notes.
• Analyze fabric types and properties (e.g., stretch, shrinkage, drape) to adjust pattern construction accordingly.
• Ensure that patterns are optimized for various types of children's fabrics, including knits, cottons, and printed materials.
• Work closely with designers, sample room, marker makers, and production teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and consistency.
• Support the CAD team in verifying patterns before marker creation and production runs.
• Maintain organized digital pattern libraries.
• Ensure proper version control and backup of all patterns and revisions.

• Degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Garment Technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in pattern making, with a strong focus on children's apparel.
• Prior work using Lectra Modaris is essential.
• Proficiency in Lectra Modaris (2D pattern making and digital alterations).
• Knowledge of pattern grading, garment construction, and children's sizing standards.
• Familiarity with safety and ergonomic considerations in children's garments.
• Strong time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.
